Email Troubleshooting

If you received either of the error messages below, you have come to the right place

 



1. If this is your first time trying to email from CenPoint, there is some setup required before you can send emails out of CenPoint. Please go to Email Setup for further direction.

2. Confirm that you can send emails from Outlook, Office 365, Gmail, or wherever you typically send emails.  If this is not working you will need to contact your email provider.

3. Verify your email address and password in CenPoint

a.  On the home page of CenPoint, click user preferences.   Then go to the "Email" Tab. 

b. Make sure your Email Address, Email Login/Acct, and Email Password are filled out.  (hint: your 'Email Login/Acct' is the same as your email address)


- If you just filled out these fields, press ok to save, and try to email again.

- If these fields were already filled out, re-enter your password and try to email again.

c. If you are still unable to email out of CenPoint, it's VERY likely this is a password issue.  Let's verify your password through Webmail!

a. Try to log into your Webmail.   This might mean going to gmail.com, outlook.live.com, etc.  

a.1 Webmail means your emails, accessed from a web browser like microsoft edge, firefox, or google chrome.  You may need to ask someone in the office how to access your webmail.

b. If the website doesn't accept your password, or abruptly ask you to reset your password, they likely have a password reset policy which made your current password invalid after having it for a certain amount of time.  Go ahead and reset your password on the Website, then in CenPoint.

c. Try to email out of CenPoint again.
