Geo Validation

Prev Next

This will display geo violations if the time entry. It honors Field Ticket start and end locations(jobsite, previous jobsite, home etc,)

All clock in/out records must be at the office address to be valid.

Note: The following should have valid addresses for the report to be accurate: jobs, company/branch, and users.

Run the Geo Validation Report for multiple techs go to Reports-> Time Cards-> Geo Validation-> Select Filters

Use the filters on the right to narrow down your results if needed.

A violation appears if the location the tech clicked their status (started, arrived, departed, completed) are more than .05 miles of where CenPoint thinks they should be.

If the tech is starting from home CenPoint us using the home address, if they are starting from the shop CenPoint is using the shop address, for arrived and departed CenPoint will use the Job or Work Order address.

Click the ellipsis and click Modify to open the Field Ticket

Click the ellipsis and click  'Map Time' to see a Google Map with the Started, Arrived, Departed and Completed locations if geocoded.

To get the most accurate location you will want to have your techs select ‘Use Precise Location’ on the CenPoint App.

If this is not turned on then CenPoint will return an approximate location.

This setting is usually found by going to the settings on the phone, selecting apps, finding the installed CenPoint app, going to permissions, and selecting location.

To use Geo Validation report when approving time cards go to Reports→Time Cards and Payroll→Review Tech Time

On the Review Tech time screen for and individual tech click the Geo Validation Button at the bottom of the screen

Click the ellipsis and click Modify to open the Field Ticket or Map Time to launch a map showing the Geo Validation records.

In the above example CenPoint thinks Bruce Wayne was 63 miles away from where he was supposed to be. We are going to Click Modify to open the Field Ticket to take a closer look.

Click on Map on the Field Ticket to Map Status or Map Address

Click on the icons on the map to show the time stamps. In this example Bruce only had 5 minutes of time  on the Field Ticket and all of his statuses are approximately in the same location. The resolution on this violation was he started driving and the job got cancelled so yes he was not on the job site when he clicked arrived and departed, he was 63 miles away, but there is a good excuse as the job cancelled ;) He was however .5 miles from the shop so his started and completed are correct.
