Are you sure you don't want to make a Change Order?
Typically, if you have started work on a Job, and the Customer asks for more, you will want to make a change Order. (see Creating a Change Order)
Overview & Notes
- Since a Quote becomes read only once it is converted and 'linked' to a Job, we will have to unlink the Quote from the Job, make our changes, and link the Quote back to the Job.
- Note that the tasks on a quote are only copied to a new Job when we 'convert'. The act of linking does not copy or change any information from the quote to job.
Modify a Converted Quote
If There are No Work orders for this Job:
If you have Work Orders, Field Tickets, or other irreplaceable information already attached to the Job, please skip to step 2
If there are no work orders on the job, the easiest way to modify the quote would be to delete the Job, modify the Quote, and reconvert it.
(Hint: the Quote will still be deactivated after deleting the Job, so you will have to uncheck "Active Only" to view it on the Quote Finder.)
Step One: Find The Quote
Open the Job, in the bottom right corner click on the ‘Misc’ button, and click on ‘View Quote’

Step Two: Unlink Quote from Job
Inside the quote click on the ‘Add’l Info’ tab, go to the ‘Converted To Job’ information box, and click on the Ellipsis → ‘Unlink from job’

Step Three: Make changes to your Quote.
Step Four: Relink Quote to the Original Job.
On your edited quote go to the ‘Add'l Info’ tab → click the ellipsis next to ‘Converted To Job’ → ‘Link to existing job’

Step Five: Relink Quote to Original Job Part 2
Find your desired job, click on it once to highlight it, and then click ‘Select’ to attach it to your quote.
Note: If your job isn’t showing up, it may be set to inactive. Just unclick the active only box and it should show up. Remember to set the job to active when you are done with everything.

Step Six: Save Your Changes
Now that you have re-linked the Quote and Job, press close on the Quote. Your edits are automatically saved.

Step Seven: Reactivate The Job
There’s a decent chance that the job went inactive while we were editing things, so just make sure that it’s an active job again, so it appears on your WOs and job lists. It can get confusing if you don’t. In my case, it set the job as inactive and the status to Deleted, so just be on the lookout for this.

Post conversion notes: You will need to modify the job and any WOs you have created off of this. They will need the modifications that you did to the quote as well. We don’t touch the job, automatically pulling any of the new information or deleting information in case you have things that you want to keep from before. We don’t want to lose anything or mess anything up for you, so you can do that yourself. :)
Congratulations! Your Quote has been successfully modified and relinked to the Job!
